ABOUT SHANNON HUMISTON

 

Shannon was born and raised in Blue Springs, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City. She began going to theatre performances at the age of five when her parents took her to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at New Theatre Restaurant in Kansas City. She was hooked from that point on.

Shannon's theatre career began during her junior year of high school when she joined some friends during an open work call for West Side Story. During her second show, she was given the role of stage manager and fell in love.

​

Following high school, Shannon was accepted to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to major in Broadcasting and Journalism with a minor in Theatre Arts. It was during her sophomore year that she decided she missed being backstage and changed her major to Technical Theatre and Design, as well as Broadcasting.

​

In May of 2019, Shannon graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Technical Theatre and Design with an emphasis in stage management.

​

Shannon is currently local to San Diego, California. She has worked for the Old Globe, La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego Repertory Theatre, Diversionary Theatre, and the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.
